When to Refill the Ink Tank

The ink tank indicator on the front of the printer allows you to check how much ink is left. Refill the ink tank if the ink level is close to the bottom limit line (A).

Resetting the remaining ink level count is essential before refilling ink tanks. This will work if the feature for alerting the remaining ink level (remaining ink level notification function) is active.

The number of ink levels left can be reset in one of two methods

  • When a remaining ink error occurs, reset the remaining ink level count.
  • When no remaining ink error occurs, reset the remaining ink level count.

A leftover ink error causes the error code to show up on the LCD. If the notification function for the remaining ink level activates.

Despite having enough ink, if print results start to fade or white streaks start to emerge, review the maintenance procedure.

  • Verify that the power is on.
  • Uncover or remove the scanning unit (B).
  • Take off the ink tank lid.
  • Grab the tank cap (E) of the empty ink tank and remove it.
  • Take a fresh ink bottle out of the box.
  • Twist the bottle cap (F) off while holding the ink bottle upright.
  • Fill up the ink tank.
  • Recap the opening using the ink tank’ cap.
  • Put the ink tank cover back on.
  • Lightly raise the scanning device or cover before gently closing it.
